This sound piece is meant to tell a story about a man who escapes the chaos of the futuristic city around him by going into his factory where he works. As he sits and works with the machines, sipping coffee and listening to the radio, he begins to hear a strange noise. The noise, a series of descending tones, repeats itself. Slowly the noise becomes more frequent until the man cannot ignore it anymore. What could it be? It doesn't sound like the city, but it doesn't sound like the factory either. Unnerved, the man takes one last sip of coffee and decides to look outside, in hopes of finding the source of the noise. He opens the door and is met with a crescendo of noise, overwhelming his senses before, CLANG, the sounds of the city cease and all the man can hear is the ringing in his ears.
